This term can often be heard in the circles of professional breeders, but it is not always clear to the beginning poultry breeder. What is mash for chickens

Blender is a wet food in which simple water or milk is used as a humidifier. Used similar food for different types of poultry. It enriches the diet of birds with useful substances, which has a positive effect on their health, appearance and, of course, productivity.

For farmers, such food makes feeding much easier, because it is possible to add herbs from the plot, waste of vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products — that is, there are few purchased products. The amount of grain may be insignificant in such feed (if the grain is given separately), and sometimes the grain is not added at all to the mash potatoes!   • Such feed can be more expensive than feed, if you use only high-quality purchased products and do not take anything from the garden or waste.
Important! Although wet mash and contain water or dairy products, the birds still need to be given a lot of clean, fresh water. Especially a lot of fluids they consume in summer, during exhausting heat!

  • Nettle, dandelion, green onions, tops of carrots, beets, clover - 50 g;
  • Carrots and beets - 50 g;
  • Grain - 45 g;
  • Meal - 20 g;
  • Beans - 5 g;
  • Yeast - 7 g;
  • Milk sour - 10 g;
  • Meat and bone meal - 5 g;
  • Chalk - 3 g;
  • Fish oil - 1 g;
  • Salt - 0.5 g

Root vegetables are boiled and crushed (can be together with the skin). They are added to yogurt, chopped grains, beans, bran. All this needs to be mixed in order to make the grain soak with liquid. Greens are minced and added to the mash along with the rest of the ingredients. The resulting mixture is thoroughly mixed and scattered on the feeders.

Interesting! If you wish, you can add other vegetables (zucchini, pumpkin, cabbage, radishes) that are in the garden to the summer mash.

  • Herbal flour - 5-7 g;
  • Oilcake - 7 g;
  • Sour or water - 100 ml;
  • Meat and bone meal - 2 g;
  • Fish fat - 1 g;
  • Salt 0.5 g;
  • Premixes (at the rate in the instructions).

A winter mash is being prepared in the same way as a summer one. First, vegetables are boiled and ground, then liquid is added, grain. The remaining ingredients are poured after the grain. The winter mash is kneaded very carefully, especially if it contains premixes!

As additional ingredients can be offered sprouted grains, cabbage leaves, green onion feathers. These products are found in almost every home in the winter and are a valuable source of vitamins for chickens.

Interesting! Mushrooms are given to birds, usually in the morning or afternoon. In the evening, it is better to feed the birds with corn, because it is more nutritious.

Blending for laying hens or broilers is done in approximately the same way. However, for broiler birds, more corn, grains and beans are added to the feed. A mash for laying hens should contain more calcium. To do this, you can mix crushed egg shell, put more chalk or bone meal.
